Application Checklist for Undergraduate Studies
  • Submit this application and the appropriate nonrefundable application fee, payable by check or credit card : $55 for degree studies, $25 for certificate studies, or $90 for all international applicants.
  • Request official transcripts of all course work be sent directly from your previously attended institution(s) to the GGU Admissions Office. If you have earned fewer than 24 semester units of regionally accredited college/university credit, then also request an official high school transcript be sent directly from your graduating high school (or in the case of the GED, from your state's department of education) to the GGU Admissions Office. Official transcripts in unopened envelopes sealed by the educational institution are not preferred, but may be acceptable if official transcripts are otherwise difficult to have sent directly to GGU.
  • If your native language is not English, regardless of your citizenship, you will need to submit proof of English language proficiency. Please refer to GGU's website for a list of options to demonstrate English language proficiency. Applicants who choose a testing method (i.e. TOEFL or IELTS) must have an official score sent directly from the testing agency to the GGU Admissions Office.
  • Submit a completed Certification of Finances if you are an international student and plan to apply for the F-1 (student) or J-1 (visiting scholar) visa. For more information on admission of international students, refer to International Student Admissions.

Optional Statement of Purpose for Undergraduate and Graduate Students
In cases where the academic history of an applicant does not reflect strong academic progress, it is recommended that a personal evaluation written by the applicant be submitted with the application materials The statement should give a realistic appraisal of any academic work since graduation from high school. Note any inconsistencies in the academic record and the reasons for them. In addition, include a plan to affirm a commitment to academic success while attending Golden Gate University. Applicants are encouraged to be as forthright and open as possible, and should feel free to discuss unusual circumstances or situations of adversity that may have influenced their current values. Be aware that both the quality of the writing and the thoughtfulness of the statement will be evaluated.


Application Checklist for Doctoral Studies
  • Submit this application and the nonrefundable $75 (domestic students) or $90 (international applicants) application fee payable by check or credit card.
  • Request official transcripts of all course work be sent directly from your previously attended institution(s) to the GGU Admissions Office. Official transcripts in unopened envelopes sealed by the educational institution are not preferred, but may be acceptable if official transcripts are otherwise difficult to have sent directly to GGU.
  • If your native language is not English, regardless of your citizenship, you will need to submit proof of English language proficiency. Please refer to GGU's website for a list of options to demonstrate English language proficiency. Applicants who choose a testing method (i.e. TOEFL or IELTS) must have an official score sent written from the testing agency to the GGU Admissions Office.
  • Request that an official GMAT score be sent directly from the Educational Testing Service to the GGU Admissions Office.

  • Submit three letters of recommendation, a professional resume and a 1,000-word statement of purpose.


Application Deadlines
The university operates on a rolling admissions basis which allows applicants to apply for admission at any time of the year. However, if you are an international applicant or an applicant applying to receive Veterans' Benefits, you must apply by the following dates to allow time for processing the government documents necessary for your attendance:

Application Acknowledgment and Correspondence
The university will acknowledge the receipt of your application. You should receive notification of the admission decision from four to six weeks after the Admissions Office has received all required documents. Notification of admission is valid only when confirmed in writing by the Admissions Office. Applicants will be assigned a university identification number. Applicants are requested to use one name consistently and include their applicant identification number on all correspondence with the university.
