Dear Student:

We are happy to hear that you are interested in continuing your education at the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh. We offer 15 degrees with majors in over 50 areas. Complete descriptions of our programs may be found in our catalog, which is on file at United States Embassies, Consulates, and Information Services throughout the world.

Attached are three forms to be completed and returned to our office:
  1. Application for admissions.
  2. Declaration of Financial Resources.
  3. Medical History & Physical Form. (Official Certificate of Health from your local physician) (see NOTE on back side of this page)

In addition to the three forms listed above, all applicants must present the following:

  4. Each application must be accompanied by a $28.00 (U.S.) application fee.
  5. Certified true transcripts and mark sheets for all schools, colleges, universities, and external examinations.
  6. Official results of the Test of English as a Second Language (TOEFL).

Each document must bear an original signature and/or original seal imprinted on the document of the appropriate official or agency awarding the documents. PHOTOCOPIES ARE NOT ACCEPTABLE UNLESS PROPERLY CERTIFIED AS MENTIONED. All official documents submitted become the property of the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh and will not be returned to the applicant. Any uncertified documents which are received will prevent action from being taken on an application for admission.

No action will be taken and no correspondence will be released on your application for admission until all properly certified materials have been received by the Admissions Office at University of Wisconsin Oshkosh.
DEADLINES: All materials must be received by our office by May 15th in order to be considered for the fall semester: and October 1st to be considered for the spring semester.

FALL 1996/SPRING 1997 COSTS: The costs for room, board, books, tuition, fees, and miscellaneous expenses amount to approximately $14,200.00 (U.S.) for nine months. Education in the United States is expensive and this estimate does not include travel to and from your home country. You must make arrangements for all of your financial needs through your entire period of study before we can consider you for admission.

STUDENT HEALTH INSURANCE: A basic health insurance charge (which gives only limited medical coverage) is included in fees paid each semester. In addition, you must carry a ma,ior medical health insurance plan while attending the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh. This mandatory plan is available to students through the University for approximately $500 per year.

PROFICIENCY IN ENGLISH: The University of Wisconsin Oshkosh requires that all foreign students take the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL). English proficiency examinations through consulate and information service offices do not supply this institution with the type of information needed to accurately assess a student's command of the English Language.

FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE: Part-time employment is scarce and permission to work is usually difficult to obtain. A limited amount of financial aid is available to qualified students following completion of one full academic year of study at the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh.

Please remember that this office must receive all necessary documents before an admissions decision can be made. We thank you for your interest in the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh and will look forward to receiving your application and credentials.

Cordially,

Rick Hillman
Associate Director of Admissions
