International Instructions

Application for admission and Scholarships

The Admission and Scholarship Committees will review your application thoroughly and carefully, consider your academic achievement, the curriculum and specific courses you chose to complete, test results, personal statement, and the level of involvement and accomplishment in school, church and community activities.

Personal Statement

The personal statement is an essential part of your application. It provides you an opportunity to "talk" with those that will read your application and gives them an opportunity to learn about you as a person. Your personal statement will also stand as a sample of your writing abilities. Careful consideration should be paid to content and technical correctness.

Official Transcript(s)

Please submit an official secondary school transcript. If you have enrolled in coursework for university credit, an official transcript from the university should also be submitted. A preliminary evaluation of your college credits will be completed upon your acceptance for admission. Examination results from Advance Placement and International Baccalaureate should also be submitted if applicable. If you are applying as a transfer student, you must submit an official secondary school transcript as well as an official transcript from each university you have attended.

Standardized Test Scores

International students whose first language is not English must provide proof of their English language proficiency. The TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) is the most commonly used; however, students may use other tests such as the Michigan Test or SAT I.

Recommendation Form

The recommendation form is a required part of the CSB/SJU application for admission. This will assist the Admission Committee in reviewing your application for admission.

Financial Forms

All international students must complete an International Student Certification of Finances and an International Student Financial Aid Application. These forms are on the Web at www.csbsju.edu/admission/apply/international.htm. Your application for admission will not be complete until these forms are returned.

Transfer Student Evaluation

Students attending a U.S. university/college must submit a transfer student evaluation form completed by the dean of students at the school they are currently attending. This form may be requested by contacting the Admission Office.

Other External Examinations

The Admission Committee will review any additional external examinations that you choose to submit. Examples of optional examinations include: "O" Level, "A" Level, SAT (Scholastic Aptitude Test), German Arbirtur, WASCE and CXCs.

Passport-size Photo

If available, please submit a passport-size photo of yourself with this application.
