In order to expedite your acceptance to Georgia Highlands College we have prepared the following checklist. Please read it carefully before submitting your Application for Admission, Certificate of Immunization and other materials.

Application for Admission (Items that are particularly important)
____ Social Security Number (becomes your student ID)
____ Check the semester you intend to begin your classes
____ Check an Enrollment Status
____ Check an Admission Category
____ Choose a Program of Study
____ Sign and Date the application
____ Application Fee of $20

Certificate of Immunization (NOT REQUIRED FOR eCORE, only applicants)
____ Complete "Part A" fully
____ Have physician or healthcare provider complete and sign the form
(Do not attach any records to the Certificate of Immunization)

Freshman (applying for "Transfer Program" that leads to a four-year degree)
____ Application for Admission
____ Certificate of Immunization
____ High School Transcript with date of graduation or high school transcript and GED scores
____ SAT or ACT scores (if graduated from high school less than five years ago)

Freshman (applying for "Career or Coop Degree Programs" with Coosa Valley Tech or North Metro Tech)
____ Application for Admission
____ Certificate of Immunization
____ High School Transcript with date of graduation or GED scores
____ SAT or ACT scores (if graduated from high school less than five years ago)

PSO/Joint Enrollment
____ Application for Admission
____ Certificate of Immunization
____ High School transcript
____ SAT or ACT scores
____ PSO/Joint Enrollment Permission Form completed and signed

Transfer attended another college
____ Application for Admission
____ Certificate of Immunization
____ Official transcripts from all colleges previously attended (mailed directly to Georgia Highlands College)
____ High School Transcript and SAT scores if transferring less than 30 hours

Transient (enrolling in Georgia Highlands College course(s) to satisfy degree requirements at another college)
____ Application for Admission
____ Certificate of Immunization
____ Transient Permission Letter from your home institution.

Non-Traditional Student/Auditor/Non-Degree Student (if you have been graduated from high school over five years)
____ Application for Admission
____ Certificate of Immunization
____ Proof of high school graduation or GED; and/or college transcript if Auditor or Non-Degree

International Students
Besides fulfilling requirements for freshman or transfer student, international students must meet the following:
____ Official copies of TOEFL with minimum score of 550 or 213 computer-based minimum score.
____ Georgia Highlands College Financial Statement showing student ability to pay tuition and fees
____ Official transcripts of all secondary & post secondary schools attended (must be officially translated to English)

Upon receipt of the above information and satisfaction of requirements the non-resident alien applicant will receive an acceptance letter and an I-20.

Resident Aliens must present a copy of the "Resident Alien Card." Upon fulfillment of requirements student will be accepted to the college.

Upon receipt of the above information and satisfaction of program requirements you will be informed of your acceptance and the need, if any, to take placement exams or attend an orientation session. At the end of your orientation session you will meet with an academic advisor who will help you with your semester's schedule. We look forward to you being with us at Georgia Highlands College.
