FRESHMEN APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS
The following needs to be submitted before your file will be reviewed.
  1. Completed Online Application Form and $50.00 Application Fee payable upon submission of online application. Applicants may be granted an application fee waiver for economic hardship by submitting a College Board Fee Waiver Request form signed by a school official, or a fee waiver request written by a school official on school letterhead.
  2. Official high school transcripts sent directly to Henry Cogswell College.
  3. Official ACT or SAT 1 reports (for high school students majoring in Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, and Electrical Engineering).
  4. Portfolio of Artwork for Digital Arts majors
  5. Essay (included in online application)
  6. Washington State "Running Start" students must also submit official college transcripts.
Bilingual applicants, please note: Results from the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) are required for all students for whom English is a second language. This will only be waived for those completing all four years of high school in the U.S. who have SAT verbal scores of 450 and higher, or ACT English scores of 21 and higher.

TRANSFER APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS
If you have enrolled in college coursework, you must have sent to Henry Cogswell College official copies of your transcripts from all colleges attended. Those with more than 45 transferable quarter credits or 30 semester credits do not need to submit high school transcripts or credentials (unless English is your second language). Transfer credit is evaluated on a case-by-case basis with respect to the course requirements of each major and articulation agreements with area community colleges.

Dependent on space and availability of classes, transfer students in Digital Arts, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering may begin their studies at Henry Cogswell College in the spring or summer terms.

PROFESSIONAL MANAGEMENT BS DEGREE (Transfer students only)
Students are allowed to begin their degree in Professional Management in the Fall, Spring or Summer. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis and students are admitted to the term following their admission to the program. Professional Management applicants should include a resume and the essay should explain your academic and career goals.

APPLICATION FEE
Please pay the $50 application fee (Credit Cards and Electronic Checks acceptable) upon submission of the online application. This fee is not refundable. Should you change your entry term to a future semester within a year; no additional application fee will be required.

This fee is waived for applicants who have received, or will receive, an associate of arts or science degree from a Washington State Community College immediately prior to entry to Henry Cogswell College.

INTENDED MAJOR
Henry Cogswell College offers all degree seeking students the distinct advantage of being accepted directly to their major of choice at the time of admission. All applicants should indicate their intended major by checking the appropriate box on the application.

INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS
Henry Cogswell College welcomes students from different countries and cultures. Because of language and educational differences, and in order to ensure a successful learning experience for students, the College finds it necessary to request additional information from international applicants. Students are requested to complete the application process early to allow time to process required papers for the Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS). Applicants should submit the following to the Admissions office:
  1. A completed Admission Application with a nonrefundable application fee of $50 U.S.
  2. A notarized affidavit of financial support for the entire period of enrollment at Henry Cogswell College. This is not required for international students holding a recently earned degree from a U.S. accredited institution.
  3. Official or notarized copies of all records of previous academic education. These records must be in English or include official English translations. Henry Cogswell College reserves the right to determine which courses may be transferred, and to determine whether or not an institution outside the United States will be recognized.
  4. Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) result. The College's Educational Testing Service (ETS) TOFEL code is 0584. The minimum acceptable score is 525. This is not required for international students holding a recently earned degree from a U.S. accredited institution.

ADMISSIONS CALENDAR
Digital Arts, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering The college practices "rolling admissions" meaning applications for admissions are received year round. However, for students interested in starting in the Fall semester, the college does have priority deadlines for those who are interested in receiving the maximum amount of financial aid and scholarship.
February 15: Deadline to receive admissions application to be eligible for the maximum amount of aid and scholarship.
March 1: Deadline for completion of the admissions application, and the submissions of the college's financial aid application.
March 15: Scholarship Determination
April 1: Notification of Financial Aid and Scholarship
May 1: Tuition Deposit Due
