FINANCIAL AID INSTRUCTIONS

If you are planning to apply for admission to Harvey Mudd College, are a United States citizen or permanent resident, and think you will need financial assistance to attend, we encourage you to apply for financial aid. The College Scholarship Service Financial Aid PROFILE and the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) are required of all applicants for financial aid.

Please note the following steps for filing the PROFILE and FAFSA:

Step 1:
To get a PROFILE Application, register for the service by calling (800) 778-6888. The College Scholarship Service will answer this line seven days a week, 16 hours a day. You can also register for a PROFILE via College Board Online.

Please note the Harvey Mudd College CSS Code 4341 and the Federal Code 001171.

Step 2:
CSS will send you a customized PROFILE application packet within a day of your telephone call. The PROFILE is due in our office by March 2.

Step 3:
Complete the customized PROFILE application packet and mail it back to CSS for processing and reporting information to the colleges you listed on your Registration Form.

Step 4:
Obtain a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) from the Internet (www.fafsa.ed.gov) or from our office and complete/mail it no later than March 2. The FAFSA is required to determine eligibility for federal financial aid programs.
