Freshman. Complete applicants by the early action deadline of December 1 will automatically be considered for all Ohio University scholarships available to first-year students, including the OHIO Signature Awards Program, a scholarship program that includes generous merit-based scholarships, supportive need-based grants, and a set of awards unique to Ohio University that blend both merit- and need-based criteria www.ohio.edu/newstudentscholarships. Consideration for merit-based awards will be offered on a space-available basis after the early action deadline.

Financial need is demonstrated by the results of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Complete the 2018–2019 FAFSA online fafsa.ed.gov beginning October 1, 2017, using 2016 tax data. Ohio University’s FAFSA school code is 003100. The FAFSA first priority consideration date for federal and institutional aid programs is January 15.

Transfer. Merit scholarships are available in limited quantity for transfer students applying for fall semester only. Transfer applicants who have completed a full year of academic study (i.e., 30 semester or 45 quarter hours of work) with a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.5 must apply and be admitted by May 15 to be eligible for consideration for merit scholarships www.ohio.edu/admissions/tuition/scholfinaid/transfer-scholarships.cfm.

Ohio University’s FAFSA school code is 003100. The FAFSA first priority consideration date for federal and institutional aid programs is May 15. If you already submitted the FAFSA for another institution, you should request that your results be sent to Ohio University's Office of Student Financial Aid and Scholarships, as financial aid does not automatically transfer from one institution to another.

International. Merit scholarships are available for international students who meet freshman or transfer scholarship criteria www.ohio.edu/admissions/tuition/scholfinaid/international-scholarships.cfm. International students may wish to explore these other websites for information on funding your education in the U.S.: educationusa.state.gov, www.edupass.org.

The Ohio Guarantee. The OHIO Guarantee enables students (Ohio residents and nonresidents alike) to pay a single fixed rate that covers tuition, room and meal plan, and fees for four years. Costs will be set by the Board of Trustees and will remain steady across a student’s four years at OHIO www.ohio.edu/guarantee.
