Instructions for Transfer Applicants

APPLICATION DEADLINES.
Fall priority deadline November 30
Regular deadline July 1*
January regular deadline December 1
Spring regular deadline January 1
*Transfers who are also applying for financial aid must apply for admission by February 1 for full aid consideration.

MINIMUM TRANSFER REQUIREMENTS.
Transfer students must have a minimum of 23 transferable academic semester units or 34 transferable academic quarter units with a grade point average of 2.3 or higher for consideration. Students who have less than the minimum number of units may be eligible for admission if they were eligible coming out of high school, i.e., their high school records and SAT I or ACT scores are comparable to those of incoming freshmen. The Admissions Committee is particularly concerned that students complete one year of high school algebra and one year of high school geometry or their equivalents with a grade of C or higher before transferring. Please call the Admissions Office if you have questions about transferring to Saint Mary's.

SUBMIT YOUR APPLICATION.
Please submit your application, application fee and essay online. Please mail official high school transcripts to Admissions Office, P.O. Box 4800, Moraga, CA 94575-4800. Letters of recommendation may be sent separately or included with other materials. The Admissions Committee will not make a final decision on your application until all application materials are received.

TEST RESULTS.
Transfer students who have over 23 transferable semester units or 34 transferable quarter units do not have to take the SAT I or ACT.

OFFICIAL TRANSCRIPTS.
Final high school transcripts must be submitted by all transfer applicants. Students who did not graduate from high school must submit high school transcripts as well as results of a high school diploma equivalency exam (e.g. GED). Individual transcripts from each college and/or university must be forwarded to Saint Mary's. Official transcripts of all work attempted are required.

LETTER OF RECOMMENDATION.
A letter of academic recommendation is encouraged. You may include more than one if you wish. Encourage your professor(s) and/or advisor(s) to use Saint Mary's recommendation form.

ESSAY.
An original essay is expected. Please write your essay on separate pages and attach it to your application.

APPLICATION FEE.
A non-refundable application fee of $55.00 (payable via secure server) must accompany your application.
