Application Checklist

To be complete, the following documents must be sent to UGA Graduate Admissions, 210 S. Jackson St, Athens, GA 30602

  • Contact the academic department to determine if applications are taken for your expected semester of enrollment and to determine the departmental application deadlines.

  • Application (submit online)

    • Including:

    • Applicants who wish to be considered as legal Georgia residents for tuition purposes must submit the Application for Georgia Residence Status, found on page 5 of this application. This form is only visible for current Georgia residents who request to apply for residency on page 3.

  • Application Fee: The application processing fee is non-refundable and is collected to cover the cost of processing the admissions application.

    • Domestic Applicants: $75.00* for one major, $115 for two majors, or $145 for three majors.

    • International Applicants: $100.00* for one major, $140.00 for two majors, or $170.00 for three majors.

    • *Reduced application fee of $25.00 is available to former UGA graduate students who are applying for new admission or readmission to enroll within four semesters of their last semester of UGA graduate enrollment.

  • Transcripts: All applicants should submit an unofficial copy of transcripts from all colleges/universities attended. You will be able to upload a copy of transcripts as part of the online application. If you are recommended for admission, you will be required to submit the official transcripts. Do not mail official transcripts until offered admission.

  • Standardized tests as directed (e.g., GRE, GMAT), officially sent from the testing agency. Check with the academic program coordinator to determine the required test. (ETS SCHOOL CODE: 5813)

To be sent to the academic department:

  • Letters of recommendation (three, for most programs) are completed online. Fill in the fields in the application or contact the graduate coordinator if no fields appear.

  • Additional information, as required by the department

International applicants must also send to the Office of Graduate Admissions, the following:

  • TOEFL scores (officially sent from ETS. ETS SCHOOL CODE: 5813) OR

  • IELTS Scores (officially sent form the IELTS Testing Center)

  • Certificate of Finances (COF) form (Found in Downloadable Forms)
