In submitting an application, a statement of interest is required explaining your background and interest in pursuing the M.A. degree in Latin American Studies. Also required are a resume, three letters of recommendation preferably from professors familiar with your academic work, two official copies of transcripts from all higher education institutions previously attended, a copy of your writing sample in English of 10-20 pages, and an application fee of $35 paid via secure server. International students are required to take the TOEFL exam. A student with less than 3.0 g.p.a. may be admitted for one semester on probationary status at the discretion of the departmental Graduate Committee.
