First-time freshmen may submit an application for Early Decision any time after the junior year of high school, but it must be received by the Office of Admission before December 1. Students who have decided to attend West Virginia Wesleyan are encouraged to apply for Early Decision. There are several advantages to being accepted under the Early Decision Plan:
  • Notification of the admission decision 3 weeks after the receipt of a completed application, beginning October 1
  • Priority status for housing and class registration
  • An estimated financial aid award before January 31
  • An Early Decision Agreement is required with the application for admission. This is a binding agreement confirming you will enroll at West Virginia Wesleyan College if accepted. Accepted Early Decision students will agree to withdraw applications from all other colleges and submit a non-refundable $200 deposit to West Virginia Wesleyan College by January 31. You must complete the Early Decision Agreement on the application AND check the Early Decision box on page 1 of the application.

FINANCIAL PLANNING INFORMATION
West Virginia Wesleyan College requires students to file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) as soon as possible after January 31. For best consideration, the FAFSA should be filed by February 15. It is always best to use completed income tax returns to file your FAFSA, but you can use estimates and update with actual figures later. If you choose to file online, you and one parent need to secure a Personal Identification Number (PIN) at www.pin.ed.gov, so you can file the FAFSA online at www.fafsa.ed.gov. If you prefer to file the FAFSA on paper, you can obtain one at your guidance office.

West Virginia Wesleyan's School Code Number is 003830. If you forgot to list Wesleyan when you filed your FAFSA, you can add Wesleyan by calling 319-337-5665. If you filed online, you must have your PIN to add us at the FAFSA website. Remember, to be considered for all state and federal grants, need-based Wesleyan grants, student employment, and loan eligibility, you must file the FAFSA by the required deadline. The results will be sent to the Financial Planning Office electronically if our code is listed on the FAFSA.

West Virginia students must file the FAFSA before March 1 to be considered for the West Virginia Higher Education Grant. West Virginia high school seniors must submit the online common application for BOTH the WV Promise Scholarship and WV Higher Education Grant. You can review and submit this at. You must complete this application before January 31.

Pennsylvania students should file the FAFSA before May 1 to be considered for the Pennsylvania State Grant.
